DS Crystal Lace

DS Crystal Lace - a hybrid streptocarpus from Demitris, Ukraine. This cultivar is a vigorous grower and heavy bloomer. However, it does not have the negative characteristics of many heavy bloomers. This cultivar is much easier to grow, as they require much less intervention from us to take care of the rosettes. This hybrid does it itself. We call it self-forming.

Leaves are firm and proportional. They are not too long or too short - you do not need to trim them. They do not hang and do not stand up like a corn stalk. They create a medium size rosette that due to “accurate” leaves could even be called compact. It is preferable to leave only one (maximum two) rosette on the plant.

It has strong peduncles which graciously hold the blossoms over the leaves. This hybrid easily creates a hat of flowers. It is common that cultivar has 50-100 blossom at a time.

In spite of the quick growth and prolific flowering, this variety has great hormonal balance, which means that flowering does not exhaust the plant. We know many hybrids which could die after flowering. This one only needs frequent repotting during heavy blooming.

This cultivar has great immune response which means resistance to different bacterial and fungal infection.
